How sustainable is my community??

I feel that my village Littlethorpe is fairly sustainable. I think this beacause in my village i have brilliant public transport which includes buses on a regualar basis and i found out that the bus shelters are made from sustainable wood. We have a train station that comes in very handy, many people use this service to get into the town centre, also there is a useful carpark and a place where u can leave your bike if you decide to cycle to the station.
There are many major employees in the area that work locally around Littlethorpe and Narborough so this enables them to walk or cycle to their work.

These companys include:
  • Santander Bank
  • GEC Whetstone
  • Blaby District Council
Near by locations there is the meridian business park and grove park which are on the bus routes, also i would like to highlight again the park and ride which is very handy and causes less traffic on the route to the city centre.

In the next local villiage Narborough which is a five minute walk from my house there is the Limes Medical Centre which is very useful and close by. We also have local shops and pubs very nearby to do our shopping and socialise, places such as the co-op and tesco express.
Blaby District Council use a very efficient and helpful service, the bin men also provide recycling bins and also bins to seperate glass cardboard and cans.

The crime in my area seems low although we do get the odd few children hanging around the shops but this i suppose happens in alot of villages.
